Great Dixter was bought in 1910 by Nathaniel Lloyd, author of books on brickwork and topiary, and was restored by Edwin Lutyens. Beautiful as usual - Great Dixter is open and looking fantastic! Despite the wet, the garden was full of colour and interest. A great time to visit with everything in bud. The cafe has had a serious makeover too, with delicious cakes and scones. Interesting savoury lunch too. It all looked (and tasted) very home made and delicious.
